This charming, wild long chain flapper purse came down to me from my mother, or one of her three sisters. Used on 'dates' and outings in the 1920s to hold coins, or other things.
 
The metal looks like slightly tarnished silver, antique finish.  The purse frame is hinged with tiny balls at the top. The purse body is fine chain-mail type mesh. The chain is made of links of two types of links: 1/2 inch long and thin and the other of round, glass-like, sparkling stones.
 
The purse measures 1 7/8" X 2 7/8"
