Two Stunning, one-of-a-kind Pieces Together Now.
The round copper tray is embellished with incised, not stamped, abstract designs circling a raised center similarly incised. A tarnished colored silver colored, but not silver, band circles the tray at the pie-crust edge. This finely crafted ‘pie crust’ edge circles of the tray that measures 25.5” across and 1.25" height at shaped edge.
The stand is comprised of three units with a center pole, and can be folded down nearly flat. Each flat surface of each of the six legs shows intricate marquetry of inlaid ebony and other woods, perhaps rosewood, and ivory. In my search for comparable items, very similar stands were crafted in late 19th or very early 20th Century. I believe this stand was also crafted in late 19th Century.
I was fortunate to have discovered these lovely pieces, on separate visits to Iran, then brought them together for this fine assemblage in my various homes in the States.
